ReStore volunteers

The ReStores offer a variety of volunteer opportunities for those 15 years and older. In addition to individuals willing to volunteer once or on a more regular basis, the ReStores can accommodate small groups, and those in need of community service hours.

The ReStores are open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm.

In addition to one-time volunteers, we are always in need of volunteers who are able to make a more regular commitment. These regular volunteers are assigned one of the following roles: intake, cashier, customer service, tradesman, or ambassador.

The ReStores are open Monday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm. Volunteers are not expected to stay the entire day, but are asked to stay for at least 3 hours. Upon arrival, volunteers should report to the front desk to fill out a waiver (this must also be signed by a parent/guardian if the volunteer is under 18) and sign-in.

If you are interested in becoming a regular ReStore volunteer, please contact Kate, at katie@hfhcc.org or 610-384-7993, x10.

The ReStores are a great opportunity for groups of up to ten people, especially those with volunteers that are too  young for the construction site. Duties include rearranging furniture, light cleaning, and refreshing merchandise on the floor.

The ReStores are open to groups Monday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm. Groups are not required to stay for the entire day and we are willing to create a flexible schedule to meet your needs.

To schedule your group, contact Kate at katie@hfhcc.org or 610-384-7993, x10.

The ReStores welcome individuals who are seeking hours for community service. If these hours are court-mandated, the offense must neither be a violent nor sexual crime, theft, or any other charge that staff deems could endanger volunteers or the integrity of Habitat for Humanity. To verify this, the volunteer must present his/her court paperwork and a photo ID prior to or on the first volunteer day.

All community service volunteers are responsible for documenting his/her own hours. However, the volunteer must sign in and out in the volunteer sign-in book every time he/she volunteers. If there is a discrepancy between the hours the volunteer self-reports and what is recorded in the HfHCC sign-in book, HfHCC’s hours will be final.

If a letter verifying service hours is required, the individual is to contact Kate at katie@hfhcc.org or 610-384-7993, x10, no less than 2 business days before the letter is needed. The volunteer must provide proof of hours and information for the recipient of the letter.

Volunteers must also sign up for their shifts on VolunteerUp. Upon arrival at the ReStore, he/she should report to the register where the volunteer will be required to fill out a waiver (this must also be signed by a parent/guardian if the volunteer is under 18) and read and sign a community service agreement form.
